Hello, since a little time ago I have had doubts about ram frequency in my desktop. I currently have an ASUS M5A97 R2.0 motherboard with AMD FX8350 processor and G.Skill RipjawsX Series F3-17000CL9D-8GBXM ram sticks (8GB - 4GBx2) Frequency 2133 CAS 9 (9-11-10-28-2N). My BIOS display the frequency as 1600, I believe that is because this is the default setting "SPD". I want to know if it is safe to change the frequency to 2133 instead of 1600 since I don't know which frequencies FX8350 support. I asked AMD Support once but they replied that I could find info at gpuzoo, which didn't made sense at all because that page is for graphics card no for processors. If its safe or not to change the frequency to 2133 I would like to know how to change it correctly and safely and If the processor doesn't support 2133 frequency then which is the max and again how i can change it.

Here are some links the first 3 are specifications for the RAM that I currently own and the last one is the reply that amd made to me.

Solution
Not positive, but believe your mobo uses DOCP, try enabling that and set the data rate to 2133, might need to add a little to the DRAM voltage (maybe + 0.06) and to the MC (memory controller) voltage, the CPU/NB to 1.24

I just went to the BIOS -> Advance mode -> AI Tweaks and made the settings D.O.C.P would selecting the profile 1 or 0 on DRAM OC Settings do the job? If it does then what I must also change (CPU/NB , I dont undertsand what u meant with that)http:// Link to picture of my BIOS

I also want to tell you that the processor I own is FX8350 no 8520, that was a visual mistake (I edited my errors)

Change "CPU & NB Voltage" from 'Offset Mode' to 'Manual Mode'.

Then change "CPU/NB Manual Voltage" from 'Auto' to either -

voltage required, or to 'Manual' and then set voltage in appropriate box nearby (user manual not entirely clear on this procedure).

I have done what you have said. I changed the speed to 1866 instead of 2133 because I'm afraid of doing it. So far the difference for now is that max CPU speed is now 4.1GHz and my CPU is always running at 4.1 without utilization at all... Is that normal? Here are two screenshots of stats of speed in my computer, I also checked ram and its seems like the speed changed.Tell me if what you see there seems completely normal and safe
