I have used different programs to figure this out, but I can only find about 250GB of use. What is using the other 500GB? I have tried CCleaner and windirstat. Can you help me?

Thanks, Rich

Hi there rengle02,

As far as I understood, I think you have two problems over here.

1st one: You see only 750 GB out of 1 TB. You need to go to Disk Management and see whether you have some unallocated space over there(250 GB). If this is the case, you can just extend your partition(right click -> extend partition). Check this out: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/2670-partition-volume-extend.html
2nd one: Something on your drive is taking a lot of space. My guess would be that you may need to adjust your System Restore settings. Delete previous restore points and reduce the HDD space allocated for that. Check this out: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/5482/make-system-restore-use-less-space-in-windows-7/

Hope this will help,

This did not work. The PC will not let me delete the restore points and it keeps creating new ones. I am up to 90GB after three days since I reformatted my HDD

What happens when you try to delete them? You can click on the "Turn off system protection" and see whether the HDD will stop filling up. Keep in mind that this will keep you from rolling back changes.
The system may be creating these due to the multiple changes that occur(lots of installations and so on).
Also, it may be a good idea to test your HDD with a brand specific testing tool. The results will show the overall health status of the drive.
