Hello everyone,

I believe I asked this before but I needed some security and clarification. So I bought a Noctua NH-D14 about a couple months ago and replaced a Corsair H100i. I was crossed between picking up either the Corsair H100i or the Noctua NH-D14. I decided to keep the Noctua NH-D14 as I felt it would be better in the long run and not having to worry about water leaks or any malfunctions with pumps. Only thing I would need to worry about are the fans.

Anyways, long story short; I've been overclocking my computer every here and there and always fiddling with settings. I ended up putting everything back to stock but temps were almost the same, most likely cause the auto voltage was the same if not higher with the stock clock speeds as my current overclock. So currently I have my PC overclocked to 4.4GHz. My idle temps are around 35-40c for the 4 cores and under load for games as what it shows on HWmonitor (100% CPU usage) my temps get to about 60c. I've seen 1 or 2 cores hit maybe 61-62c but nothing above that. Can I get your insight/knowledge on my overclock. The only thing I did to overclock my PC was put it at 44 across all the 4 cores and then change the voltage to manual and put in 1.19. The highest voltage I've seen my PC go under HWmonitor is a bit over 1.2v. I just don't remember the exact numbers. And my ambient temps are around 78f+. I sometimes don't turn on the AC and its been hot in my apartment here in California. Below is my specs:

Motherboard: ASUS P8Z77V-PRO
CPU: I5 3570K OVERCLOCKED TO 4.4GHZ (1.19v)
Cooler: Noctua NH-D14
Memory: Corsair Vengeance 16GB 1866MHz 9-10-9-27
Video Card: PNY Nvidia GTX 770 2gb Factory OC
Case: Thermaltake Core V71
Power Supply: Thermaltake Toughpower 1200W
Hard Drives: PNY 256 GB XLR8 PRO SSD
Crucial MX100 512 GB SSD

Oh okay cool! Well I just got home and turned on my PC and these are my temps currently that I took a screen shot of. I haven't gamed yet. For some odd reason, I was just expecting to have lower temps...

Also, you wouldn't happen to know why my computer is doing this weird thing would you? When I click my power button on my tower, it doesn't seem like my PC turns on instantly. There's like a couple seconds delay. It used to never do this... Till I overclocked. Like I stated above, I'm pretty sure I overclocked correctly. Also, I enabled some APM settings because if not, my mouse doesn't turn off... Besides that, I don't believe I have power issue like my PC shutting off or anything.

Idle temps are fine. But load temps are slightly more important to monitor.
The motherboard has to run through its checks before loading the os. It's normal with a couple second delay depending on your BIOS setup.
What do you mean by your mouse is not turned off? If you mean the LEDs, the motherboard keeps the USB ports power for up to 5V.

Yeah. I read that somewhere that load temps matter more and that idle temps don't really matter as much. Thank you for clarifying that!

So I guess the delay is normal then? Cause I clicked the power button on my tower and there's a couple seconds delay before my PC lights up and stuff starts moving. I never noticed this before...

And what I mean by the mouse is the lights. It keeps staying on. So instead of unplugging it every time, I googled a solution. On my ASUS board, I enabled something called ErP Ready. It basically helps me turn off those lights on my mouse.

I also did some research while waiting for you to reply. Thanks again for all your help! But during the research, I saw some other people mentioning that it could be my power supply that is dying... I really hope not. My power supply is pretty old but I really don't want to buy another one... Is there any real way of knowing if my power supply is going bad? I obviously haven't experienced other issues. Its going to be a pain to redo my cable management lol. BUT, I also did see that even people changed out their power supply and motherboard and had the same issue. The 3-5 second delay before it really powers on. I also saw someone said to update the bois. My bios version was a year old lol. So I just flashed my bios to the latest which is 2013.

By the 3-5 second delay, you mean before the motherboard post or start up?

I believe its before the computer starts up. Basically I would click the power switch on my tower and a couple seconds would pass then power would go through my PC and things will light up and fans will start up

So I turned off my computer. Just turned it back on like 1 minutes ago. Realistically, its not 3-5 seconds before power goes through the computer and things light up and start spinning, its like 1-2 maybe 3 seconds.

Thank you very much for the info Suzuki. Does this mean my overclock is stable? Or am I supposed to be getting better temps. When gaming like with Dying Light, Counter-Strike GO, BF4, BF Hardline; it hits 60c or 61c. I haven't seen it get above that.
