How do you get the router settings to come up for c6300 with Internet Explorer

I have Win7 running Internet Explorer9,when I type all the info for bringing up the settings a sign says can't connect

Is NetGear C6300 your router?
Did you follow the Installation guide? What happens when you enter "http://192.168.0.1" without quotes in the address bar of Internet Explorer?
Power-up the router, connect your computer only to the router' LAN ports (one the four with same color), then open command prompt (Start | Run -> cmd.exe). On the "C:\Users\<your name>" prompt, enter "IPCONFIG" without quotes, copy / paste information here.
