You would need to remove the HDD from the USB enclosure and then install it to one of the SATA connectors in your PC. I realize this may be a problem if your USBEHD is a commercial product and it's difficult, if not practically impossible, to remove the drive from the enclosure without seriously damaging or destroying the enclosure. Also, this will void your warranty if the device is still under warranty. So my suggestion may not be practicable under these circumstances...
Hi there le0nyt4s,

Have you tried the drive on another system and on a different USB port?
If the issue persists and if the drive still under warranty, most probably the best thing you can do is to contact the manufacturer and RMA the drive.

Another thing you can try is to test the drive with a DOS version of some HDD testing tool.

Your 1 TB HDD is designated Disk 1 in Disk Management. Do you see that downward-pointing small red arrow in the far left box of Disk 1's listing? Just right-click on that arrow and the Disk Initialization process will begin. You can then partition & format the disk to your heart's content. But as you've been told any data previously on that disk will be "gone with the wind". Capiche?

But at least try to follow D_Know's suggestion re connecting the USBEHD to another PC if one is available and see what happens under those circumstances.
