Hello everyone,
I put a build together in early January. My build list is as follows:
Gigabyte Z97X Gaming 7
i7-4790K
2*8 GB G. Skill Trident X 2133 Mhz
500 GB Samsung 840 EVO
EVGA Supernova 750 W
Windows 8.1 Professional
Corsair H100i
I have been getting random BSODs, the failure message is usually always different. I am thinking it is either the RAM or the SSD. I am running the 840 EVO in rapid mode and don't know whether this is the issue. A few of the error codes I have gotten have been: SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION, MEMORY_MANAGEMENT, FILE_SYSTEM.
My system only BSODs during long periods of idle, coming out of sleep or opening a large file. I can run stress tests for days and it won't BSOD. I am currently at 4.5 Ghz @ 1.195 V adaptive. I am almost positive it is not my CPU voltage. I ran a memory test that didn't require me to switch boot drives in the BIOS, and it returned 0 errors. I had a moderate overclock on my RAM, and after I started having errors, I just went down to the XMP profile. Samsung offered to RMA my SSD. I already have to RMA my motherboard after this semester of college is over because of a bad headphone jack, but i'm afraid i'll have to RMA my RAM too. Help.
I bet you all are wondering about my GPU, actually running a GTX 760 until I can pick up a R9 380X.
