Hello, I have been experiencing some problems with watching YouTube in Google Chrome (My default browser) lately. Every video I try to watch is very laggy, but has nothing to do with my internet. I have fast internet speeds and the type of lag that I'm experiencing is a Chrome/Software issue. I tried lowering the resolution which didn't work, so that's ruled out. I then tried disabling Shockwave player (In chrome://plugins) which stopped the lag. The only problem with having Shockwave player disabled is that quite a bit of websites rely on Shockwave player for various things, such as Pandora. Is there a way to keep the Shockwave Flash plugin enabled but stop the lag on YouTube? Thanks and any help is much appreciated.

"the type of lag that I'm experiencing is a Chrome/Software issue" - how do you know?

Have you tried on another browser?

Have you tried re-setting Chrome back to defaults?

I knew that it was a chrome/software issue because there was no buffering and I get 40Mbps Download and 1.2 Mbps Upload. I tried Internet Explorer and I didn't experience lag at all. I then reset Chrome to defaults and it fixed the lag/stuttering. I don't know what the cause of the problem was, but am very curious due to me having this problem multiple times. Anyway, thanks.

I have Norton Identity Safe and The Tom's Hardware Threads extenstion, which were both disabled due to the "reset to defaults". I re-enabled them and tried a video, and experienced no lag.
