High Memory Usage?

I have G.Skill Ripjaws 2133 Mhz ram 2 x 4 and at idle, in windows 8.1, about 40% of my Ram is being used. Is that normal? I've ran malwarebytes and nothing was found. I was just asking because when i play games i get a high memory usage warning, and it sometimes causes my game to close. Any info will be appreciated. Thanks in Advance

Use taskmanager to see what is hogging your memory. Let us know what you find.

I added the picture of task manager, it seems to be using twice the amount of memory of the processes.

I can't see all the processes but I can see chrome is sucking some of the life out of your system. I see people complain about it frequently. What does the performance tab show?

Try disabling unnecessary programs when windows boots. hit windows key + r then type msconfig and hit enter. Look at startup tab and uncheck things you don't need running when windows boots. Anything you disable here can still be run manually after booting if you want. Your memory use is a little high but you should not be having problems. There are services you can disable but that's for more advanced users, and can cause problems if not done correctly. Try googling windows performance tweaks and see what other help you can get.

Stop startup items then change your kernal Memory In registry And end some processes
