There was a time when GDDR3 Graphics memory rolled out which was quiet equivalent to DDR2 memory and then came out the GDDR4 and GDDR5 memory types based on DDR3 memory..........
So my question was that is there any news or upcoming news or even rumours out there about graphic cards based on the latest DDR4 memory cuz that would be a huge bandwidth jump,.,.,

fyi found nothing on google

hope you guys have some info...

Thanks

Well we know new AMD GPU is about to have something fishy called HBM 3D stacked memory, but thats a rumors:
http://wccftech.com/amd-20nm-r9-390x-feautres-20nm-hbm-9x-faster-than-gddr5/

As also partially said on the video system ram and vram its similar, but thats how CPU is similar to GPU, both do calulactions...
So yeah both are similar they do work as a cache memory on certain level, except of that the similarities ends.

Possibly, but at the moment there are no publicly available JEDEC documents even mentioning GDDR6.

No, no it isn't. DDR4 is very different internally compared to DDR3. In fact, it adopts a number of elements of GDDR5.
