Over the past several months (5+ months), I have been having a really irritating issue where most days, The ping speed of my internet connection will suddenly increase and fluctuate from 0ms to 3000ms. This is hard to say how long this lasts because it is different every time it occurs, however I can say that it can last anywhere between a minute or even 30 minutes.
Another issue which I think links in with the ping problem is that sometimes the internet will cut out for a very short amount of time (1-3 seconds) and instantly reconnect automatically. I know this happens because a little yellow sign appears over my network icon for a short period of time and then disappears.
This is a very annoying problem because it can also occur when I am gaming.
Also, I am connected using a wired ethernet cable and have tried many different methods to try and solve this, but everything I have tried never seems to work or fix the issue!
I have contacted my ISP (Sky Broadband) many different times about this problem, but they seem to no nothing about solving the issue and give me stupidly obvious advice such as "Resetting the Internet", which of course does not help...
Please can someone help me try and fix this issue because it has been going on for months now and is slowly getting worse. Thanks!
