Hello all,
I have a weird problem. I'll start by saying this is 10.9 Maverick OSX. I was trying to open a pdf by double clicking the file (the intention is to open it in adobe reader). I get the message "Application not found"

I can open the pdf by opening Adobe reader, then go to File> Open and open the file. Works!

Why am I getting "Application not found" when clearly the application is installed and works fine (its even on my dashboard).

Thanks in advance!

Solution
1. Right-click on any PDF file.
2. Select "Get Info".
3. Click on the triangle next to "Open with:".
4. Select "Adobe Reader" in the combo box (you may have to navigate "Other" to find it).
5. Click on "Change All...".
6. Click on "Continue" in the resulting dialog.
7. Close the "Info" dialog.
8. Double-clicking PDF files should now open them in Adobe Reader.
