What do you mean about the motherboard
I can't tell whether you're complimenting my PC or not

Ok Thanks
It's a great board and I'm really happy with my PC

Hi,

As said it's DIFFICULT TO COMPARE since pre-builts don't usually use the same components. Your motherboard, power supply, and CPU cooler are likely all better than what most pre-builts have.

$1500 CDN might not even get you a desktop with a GTX970, and certainly not one with an SSD and HDD.

If I did a lot of research, based on my general experience with building I think I'd discover you "saved" at least $300. But again, very difficult because high quality parts often are only put into systems that far exceed their value (like $2500+ for a GTX970 setup).

*Long story short you definitely saved money if comparing apples to apples. You've got a really awesome system.

**Learn how to TWEAK Games for the best experience (perhaps force Adaptive VSYNC for some games; google for how). Investigate G-Sync monitors in the future. ENJOY!

Its been a while since I built a computer, but I never did it to save money. It was always to get the computer I wanted. The cost differential of buying Windows is almost certain to make any home built more experience than a bulk manufactured machine. If you run Linux, then you have a fighting chance.
