computer does not start up

My NVDIA 9100 video card heated up to much which caused a turn off . I changed the thermic paste and a worked fine until today. Could it be the video card ? It doesn't warm up by starting the computer. The computer surge for a while, than it gives a peep and stops but doesn't turn off. I am wondering...

Yes, thanks. I already found out. There is no onboard graphics connection on my motherboard. And the video card is dead, that is clear now. The manuel sais: one long beep and two short ones means 'or bad connection or dead card'. And that is what happened.
I ordered a new video card :)

It's the Asus GeForce GT 610, 2 Go, good enough for me ;)
