The Asus would be my choice but then really I would rather build an Intel rig.

Get the EXTREME 6 the Sabertooth has too many issues.

If your main purpose is for rendering or other multi threaded apps, then you are good.

If this build is for gaming, you need to look at intel I5 of some sort.

In the specs for the ASRock 990FX Extreme6 it doesn't list 1866 yet it lists 2100(oc) and 2450(oc). So I guess my question is will 1866 still work even though its jumped over on the list?

1866 will be fine , anything above 1866 is hard to run on AM3+

Yes the Heat Spreaders get in the way of the Heatsink.
