Hey guys! I have been playing with computers for quite awhile now and I seem to usually know what's wrong with it when It acts up. For some reason, though, I can't seem to fix this problem. Whenever I start up my computer, 50% of the time it takes forever only to say that the OS didn't load. 25% of the time it loads up fine, but whenever I open a program, like Steam, the program will stop responding. After a minute or two the computer will stop responding completely, then the screens will turn black and it will restart. The last 25% of the time it will run games fine, but will randomly freeze, and the audio usually is not present. Here are my computer specs for anyone that could help:

Motherboard: GA-970A-UD3
Processor: AMD FX(tm)-6100 Six-Core Processor 3.30 GHz
Video: AMD Radeon R9 270x
OS: Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate Edition
8 gb RAM

Run memtest86 to to test your ram. http://www.memtest86.com/ If you start seeing errors then test stick separately for at least 6 passes.
Run chkdsk /f to test your HDD. Run SFC /scannow to check your files. If chkdsk shows errors then you may want to run HDD tools to check its health.
PSU may be putting out too little voltage on all the rails if other tests come up clear. Test it with another one if you can just to rule it out.
Make sure you have all of the latest updates for your board and GPU.

Sorry it took me literally forever to reply back, I've been busy at work and too stressed with my computer to be on it anymore.

Anyways, I ran memtest86 with 3 passes each stick and found no errors. I ran chkdsk and found nothing. I scanned my PC with CCleaner AND Avast! and most of the things CCleaner found was just browser information taking up space. I ran HDD tools and my HDD was healthy and everything was fine. I have an 800W power supply and the voltage is on Auto in my BIOS but has always been like this, and this problem hasn't been prevalent until now. I have never seen a problem like this that hasn't easily been identifiable as hardware OR software..

EDIT: I also am defragging my computer right now and it is a pretty hefty defrag, but I'm not sure if that will really stop my computer from freezing and crashing when playing games.
