I have a New system and a SSD with Operating System PRE-Installed. I am Confused over the Multi Partition Types setup on the SSD and also on the TWO Western Digital Blue 1TB. The Western Digitals also seem to have a different setup as well. Can Some one explain this Information To Me as i use to work on a old LGA775 MB and a Barricuda 1TB and its all different. Also i was told by Microsoft Support i Could not have a recovery partition on my LGA775 Barricuda System and had to use USB or DVD Only.
Disk 0 SSD 256GB - Recovery , UEFI , NTFS - GPT Disk
Disk 1 Western Digital Blue 1TB - Raw 128MB , NTFS - GPT Disk

Disk 2 Same Model/ Make as Disk 1 - NTFS - GPT Disk

So there is a different in my 2 Western Digitals as well also never use UEFI motherboard or SSD before. Please help explain why there is a difference in both western digitals and also what the Recovery and UEFI are especially since i been told NO recovery partition can be setup on Windows 8.1 Pro 64Bit by microsoft support as use same operating system on both machines.

Also how to i set up system so that all Programs and data go to Disk 1 and not SSD want SSD for system mainly and only certain select programs. Also how can i move programs from old system to new system or is it a case of re-installing due to registry entries ?

Thanks in Advance for Any Help.

You don't. What you do is, when you install something, choose where it gets installed to. Almost all current appplications give you the chance to choose where it gets installed to.
Having said that, most, if not all, applications....you want installed on the SSD.

You can't. They would need to be reinstalled, on whatever drive you want. But as above...most applications you want on the SSD.
Games are a different thought, though.

thank you for the answers and links. i have been installing programs that gave me the choice to install onto the western digital except for certain heavy duty games. i also managed to move folder links for desktop , documents , video , pictures etc. so , so far so good :).

im still looking in the 33 partitions on the ssd, 1 in easy the operating sytem files , other is called uefi which i assume is tied to the different type bios. as for recovery i am assuming at this stage this is a system recovery partition setup by system builders something that microsoft told me was not possible.

i will make posts for the other unknown differences i have found in this new type of system compared to my old one and keep those questions seperate and in correct forums.

thank you to those that answered.
