Does this wifi card work?

The wifi card i have on my computer currently only supports 2.4ghz wifi. We have just upgraded to 5ghz wifi. I would like to be able to connect to it. I would like to buy this card http://www.amazon.com/Intel-Centrino%C2%AE-Advanced-N-6235-6235ANHMW/dp/B009SJTSWU . Is it compatible with an asus q550lf.

The wifi should broadcast on two channels, 2.4GHz and 5GHz. Most appliances like phones and tablets still only work with 2.4GHz, so they won't get rid of it for a while. It will work just fine.

So the card will work? The 5ghz network is a lot better than the 2.4ghz. The 5ghz works on my ipad and after a speedtest on both the 5ghz performed about 50 mb above the 2.4ghz. I am just confused if that was a yes to the card working.

Yes, the card will work. However, if you want to use your new 5GHz Wifi, you will need to buy a 5GHz capable card.
