No idea what happened with my original post; was trying to post via the mobile site and it appears as if my content was lost. Damn.
What I was trying to ask was my new build has a Toshiba TS-T632A slim optical drive (a necessity of the case) with a StarTech SATA to Slim Optical IDE Drive adapter connected to my Asrock Z97M Pro Micro-ATX board.
The update is that the drive is now at least picked up by the BIOS. But it still won't accept a disc - you push it in and it doesn't go fully in (it's a slot loading drive) just spits it out again.
Is it a driver issue? How can it be when I haven't managed to install an OS yet - due to said drive not accepting media. Any help is greatly appreciated.
