Moved hard drive won't boot on another exact laptop

Have you tried moving laptop 2's drive into laptop 1 and seeing if it boots? If it does then you know the cloned drive is the issue.
I have cloned drives and the cloned drive wouldn't boot before. I had to boot the computer with the cloned drive using the Windows CD and then had it run a repair and it worked fine after that. Some cloning software does not do a perfect clone of the boot partition is my guess.
