how to fully upgrade my alienware x51

got an alienware x51 -_- i regret getting it 2 years ago cause not alot of video cards can fit in but i have it now it has

GTX 660ti 2GB
i7-2600 3.4Ghz
8GB of RAM
330 power wats

i know it'll maybe run GTA 5 on high at 60fps if the game is optimized up the ass! but if im lucky

so is there away to upgrade my alienware x51 that will work with it and fit in this tiny machine?

i heard GTX 980 works with it is that true?

you know you can always just change the chassis right? and a 980 won't work because you are way below the power needed take my advice and switch the case and psu then you can upgrade to a better gpu instead of ditching the entire system because the i7 you have is still pretty good for todays games

Single fan "mini's" allow hot air into the X51's Small Form Factor Case.
No!
Only use a Reference style blower card that directs heat out the back of the case.

I had a -8°C idle temp. drop. HDD's generate their their own heat, SSD's, not so much.

Neither of those Mini cards will work!!!!!!!!!! I had an X51 and bought a GTX 970 Mini from Gigabyte and it did NOT fit! I now run it in another PC, and it works flawless!

So: IF YOU WANT TO HAVE ONE OF THOSE CARDS DO NOT BUY IT FOR THE ALIENWARE X51!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yesterday i just installed on my Alienware x51 R2 330w i7-4790 - 16GB ram a PNY XLR8 Geforce GTX 980 CG 4GB ( cumsontion for this card is only 165w) So is compatible with an Alienware X51 R2 ( only is you have a psu 330w) is working like a charm. Games like witcher 3, fps are above 60. make sure you'll get this model PNY XLR8 Geforce GTX 980 CG thats the best that you can get for now. its around 519 in amazon. the card will fit. only you need to remove the small front fan and replace it if you want with a thinner one. The PNY XLR8 Geforce GTX 980 CG is the only one who has been qualified by dell for the Alienware X51 R2 with the 330w psu. if you buy it now youll get the new metal gear solid for free in Amazon also!
