Hello All !! - I just returned home after a 4 month overseas stint with the Army, and received another laptop from a friend of mine. It's an HP Compaq M2105US that came with only 256MB DDR-333MHz DDR of System Memory, and was wondering if I could up-grade the MeM(Manual says 1GB Max)? But would like to know if i can up-grade it to 2GB's, as long as I use PC2700 DDR-333MHz Memory. Thanks in advance to all who answer, Army shout out - WOOAH!!!!

Solution
You would not be able to upgrade to 2gb. The m/b just will not support it. You might want to consider upgrading to 1gb, then install linux. A distro like mint or ubuntu is very easy to work with and is not as memory hungry as windoze.

BTW - welcome home and thanks for your service. I have two in the army - one just made E8 and the other graduates from SgtMajor academy in June.
