Hi,

I am planning to purchase a 2.1 speaker system for my PC. And I have these two choices:

Philips 2.1 Multimedia Speaker System Explode MMS4040F/94
F&D A521 Laptop Speaker

Which one is better?

Does any of you have any of these, have experienced..then please tell.

Thanks

I'd HIGHLY recommend these instead. I own a set myself, and was so surprised and pleased with the performance, which is loud, clear and has deep bass that is separately controllable, that I bought a set for two other family members as well.

Having extensively purchased and installed many types of PC speaker arrangements for myself and for clients, I'd have to say that for under a 100 US dollars, these would be the #1 product on my short list.

Aah, that review is bs. That might have been the case on the sku they sampled, but that doesn't mean it wasn't just their test sample. I've never experienced any of those issues with any of the units I've purchased for myself, family or clients. But maybe I just got lucky with the five or so sets of them I've worked with. Or maybe Cnet sucks buttocks. I'm voting for the second option and I would never consider Cnet one of the reputable tech sites by any stretch of the imagination.

You find me a similar review on a well respected REAL tech review site, like Tom's, Anandtech, RealHardtechX or even Maximum PC, and I'd be a lot more willing to believe maybe there've been issues with some production runs. All of mine have been fine though. I imagine if you run the bass up past three quarters and jam the volume high enough you'll have some severe sound quality issues, but these are not those kind of speakers and the idiots at Cnet should know that.

And the Phillips is still a viable option, if you don't like the Logitech's in any case.
