think i would have to disagree with that. The Ram issues for the GTX 970 seem to be consistent in certain situations. As games grow in size, those situations will be more common and it will become a larger problem IMO. I would get the 780 if your considering SLI at all or i would consider the gtx 970 only if i was willing to keep my vram usage below the 3.5 GB (to be fair the GTX 780 only has 3GB) and not using SLI ever.
 
Has anyone ever produced any benchmarks to prove performance issues on the 970? It's still a highly recommended card here by the editors here at Toms and others sites like Anandtech. Nvidia are actively asking for examples of performance hits as they can address them with driver updates by improving their memory management.

I thought the whole fiasco was appalling by Nvidia and I don't buy their explanation that it was an 'accident'. But, that doesn't change the fact that the 970 is still a really solid card for 1080p & 1440p gaming IMHO.
