Hi. I have had my FX6300 in a Zalman T5 mini case for a while on stock cooler and the fan seem to be bothering me a bit. so i have decided to upgrade the cooling. the options i am considering are:

1. change the fan on the stock cooler with a Noctua NF-A8 80mm PWM fan for 12.49 GBP
2. change the cooler to an artic freezer 7 for 13 pounds (fan pushed 50 m³/h at 35dbl)
3. change the cooler to an artic freezer 7 and use a Noctua NF-A9 92mm PWM fan for 26 pounds (fan pushed 63 m³/h at 18dbl or 78m3/h at 23dbl)
4. change the cooler to a Noctua NH-L9x65 for 35 pounds (fan pushes 57,5 m³/h at 23dbl). this product is very fresh and i was not able to find a review.

I am torn between the options and wondering what you guys think. sound is my primary concern. but ideally i would live to keep the temps as low as possible. I am not sure which.

cheers

I recommend the Raijintek Aidos over any of the suggested fans. It's a tiny 92mm tower that performs as well as a much larger Hyper 212 Evo whilst remaining extremely quiet for a small fan design. It's only £15 and a great addition to any overclocking build. I recommend it over both the Hyper 212 Evo and the Freezer 7.

See how the Aidos is only 5 degrees behind the Corsair H100 in the AIDA64 benchmarks!

The 212 evo might have just a lil too much height to fit in that lil zalman case.
It might fit, it might not depending what the measurements nclude on the 212 as Im quite it does not include the copper nibs sticking out of the top of the fin stack.

I don't recommend the freezeer 7 as there are many better products but it will do fine, I used one years ago. No complaints. It took my core 2 dual core to 4.14Ghz.

I haven't heard a single bad thing about Raijintek coolers as Woody1999 recommended.

If it were me, I would look for a tx3 or a t4 both made by cooler master. The t4 is a cm 212+ but shorter.
The tx3 on the otherhand is a 92mm fan with a good sized heatsink. It should perform 3-4 degrees cooler than the freezer 7.
