Need Troubleshooting software to diagnose system crashing freezes

I've just built a new computer for video editing, and on the surface everything says it is compatible, yet something is causing a serious enough fault that freezes are occurring every hour or two at random, and when they occur there is no recovering, only a forced power off will break the freeze. I've updated a ton of drivers, but I have no way of diagnosing the nature of the problem. Suggestions?

All of it is OC-able, but none of it has been yet with the exception of factory overclocking.

*Update* - I went into the BIOS and enabled the XMP 2.0 profile for RAM.

Thus far there seems to be no common thread for the cause other than some program or driver that is always active in the background, unless somehow Firefox is causing them, which seems unlikely. I've experienced several types of crashes, including some where the computer froze and then immediately restarted on its own, only to fail at loading windows and require a manual shut down and restart. It has also frozen, and stayed stuck that way pending a manual restart to unfreeze.

Thank you! Running 3 hours strong without a freeze since I enabled the XMP 2.0 profile on RAM. I haven't removed half of the RAM yet, but I'll definitely give that a try if the issue starts back up. It's more than a little counter-intuitive that overclocking the RAM would increase system stability, but it certainly appears to be doing just that.

The first two have by far the most log entries. Windows 8.1 told me yesterday that it had no updates to install, but today it is telling me there are over 100, so hopefully Windows Update being stupid is the reason for all this trouble.

Also, the error code it bluescreened me to when I caught it was : IRQL_not_less_or_equal

*Update* - After many rounds of windows updates, a couple of CMOS clearings, and a BIOS flash to the most updated version Windows is detecting no memory problems. Thank you again!
