Hi,
I'd be grateful for your advice with this please. Can you use a LAN port on the router to a Fast Ethernet Switch and still use the remaining LAN ports on the router for devices that are closer to the router?
At the moment I've moved the router upstairs to provide better WiFi to a front bedroom but the
Ethernet Switch and modem are downstairs which means longer runs for devices as it is. I'm hoping
I can use the Ethernet Switch for PCs downstairs and the router LAN ports for upstairs devices.
Thanks.
Bob

There should be no restriction on the other ports on the router. You could plug switches into those too if you really wanted to.

The only restriction you would have would be all the device downstairs are going to share 100m. This likely is not a issue in most houses.
