I want to stomp this game at 1080p 60/fps but rumour has it, that it requires a 980 to do so.

Now in saying that the 970 is 10% less performance than the 980, so it'd technically be around the low 50's margin? (correct me if I'm wrong)

So would it just be better to get a 970 and oc it to a stock 980 so I can run it at 60fps? to save money of course

Do you have at least 8 GB of RAM? If you don't you'll experience stuttering and can be unplayable to some, with heavy FPS drops.
Do you meet req. for CPU? Intel Core i7-3770 3.4 GHz or AMD FX-8350 4 GHz
HDD 40 GB minimum

If you do, 970 is good enough. No way to know for sure, the game is not out yet, but it'll definitely be good enough for 1080 @ 60 unless I've missed something

I'll be running i7-4790k with 16gb of Kingston HyperX Fury (2x8) clocked at 1866mhz. I'm not sure if I sure go for the 970 or 980 at this point.
