In the works for a new build, slowly but surely, piece by piece.

My current specs from 2011 (besides my video card) are:

Case: Antec Six Hundred Black Computer Case.

Disc Drive: LG Black Blu-ray/Disc Combo SATA Model UH10LS20 LightScribe.

GPU: MSI GTX 970 Gaming 4G (JUST UPGRADED THIS MONTH, 2015) Starting to feel the bottle-necking and effects of my old CPU and MoBo bring down this card I just got.

Motherboard: ASUS Crosshair IV Formula AM3 AMD 890FX SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX/AMD.

Pwr Suppy: XFX Black Edition P1-750B-CAG9 750W ATX12V v2.2 / ESP12V. (I'm assuming I'll need a newer PSU)

HDD: Western Digital WD Black WD6402AAEX 640GB 7200RPM 64MB Cache SATA.....I ALSO HAVE ONE SSD FROM KINGSTON.

Memory: G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333.

CPU: AMD Phenom II X6 1100T Black Edition Thuban 6-Core 3.3Ghz, 3.7Ghz Turbo.

Now my heart is set on the AMD Black Edition - AMD FX -8350 4GHz 8-Core/Socket AM3+....I want to build around this CPU...and I KNOW I need a new MoBo for this, but I'm not sure which one to get. I'm looking to set myself up for The Witcher 3 and Mortal Kombat X, all on full load, ultra 1080p, 60fps, but I know I need a new MoBo and CPU for this, as well as RAM but I'm not sure what direction I should go in.

I use my PC for high-end gaming and nothing else, so I want to prepare for The Witcher 3 and MK-X, since my GPU just came with a free copy of The Witcher 3.

Any and all help would be greatly appreciated as I'm still rather new at understanding what is compatable and what is not, :D.

THANK YOU!

My hearts absolutely set on the AMD Black Edition AMD FX -8350 4GHz 8-Core/Socket AM3+ CPU, since it's both on the recommended list for The Witcher 3 and MK X, which is $180 all over the place...so I guess a nice $200-$250 MoBo from preferably ASUS would do.

My PSU is 4 1/2 years old and I've tried every since day one to run all of my games on high to ultra settings? Do you think my PSU would be on its way out by now? I do hear a strange sound coming from one of my fans at initial cold start-up. I have reason to believe it's the PSU. Just changed out my GPU, so it's not that....not sure about the CPU fan, but I don't think it's that.
