My desktop computer keeps crashing. It used to follow a general pattern; it would crash twice on startup or right after startup, after that it *usually* wouldnt crash for the rest of the day. It also has NEVER once crashed while I have any game running. It only crashes while I am simply on my deskop or using a browser. I thought it might be a hard drive failure, but i replaced my HDD and the problem is still there. It definitely isnt a problem with overheating as I had a good mid-range GPU/CPU and my cpu usage is only around 10%.

Specs:
CPU: AMD FX 6350 3.9GHz, 6 core (not overclocked)
GPU: AMD Radeon R7 260X
HDD: 1TB Seagate
Motherboard: Asus M5A97 R2.0
RAM: 8GB
OS: Windows 7 64 bit

Thanks in advance for all the help!

make sure the mb bios is up to date. go into the bios turn on intel xmp profile or amd version of it. make sure the ram speed is set right. download the newest mb chipset drivers from amd web page. make sure the hard drive on the amd sata port if the mb has asmedia ports. from a boot disk run memtest 86 see if you have bad ram stick. if it not ram it can be a bad power from the power supply or a bad vrm on the mb or bad cache in the cpu.
