Planning on upgrading my storage devices and I stopped on Samsung 850 Evo SSDs. Whatever SSD combo I might get I will always have 3 partitions: 250 GB for Windows and basic apps, 500GB for games and 250 for work related stuff.
Is it better to buy an SSD for each partition or just get one big one and partition it? Is it any difference performance and wear wise? Is it better to have the data spread on multiple SATA3 lanes?
I have plenty of SATA3 ports and PSU power, aswell as standard HDD for backups and the like so I'm just interested to know about the difference between having multiple smaller SSDs or a big one. Not interested in RAID setups.
Price wise any combo is about the same, aswell as same read/write speeds no matter the capacity.
