Hi everyone, this is my first post since i joined today.
Im upgrading to a new pc as my current one is no longer able to handle very well.
I found a Sapphire r9 270 twin-x (not the 270x just 270) for NZD $175 thats USD $132.
Its second hand, used light/modarate over 6 months. In good condion.
Is it a good deal for my budget gaming pc build?
if so, its gonna take a while to gather the parts so can i still enjoy this gpu in my old pc:

Core 2 Duo e8400 OC 3.6Ghz
Radeon 5670 1gb
4gb ddr2 corsair
asus pkl-cm/1600

will i still get a nice experiance till i upgrade to my next one:
(all i know im getting so far)
i5 4440 3.1Ghz Hashwell
sapphire r9 270 twin-x
8gb ddr3 1600mhz
1tb wd blue 7200rpm

and last but not least are thease parts going to make me a reasonable gaming pc on a budget?

Thanks, there's so much to learn
I hope someone can advise me :)

The R9-270 is about as low as you'd want to go for decent 1080p gaming with high-ish settings in most games. So yes, it will be a good card for a tight budget.
As far as improving performance in your old dual core PC, it will help. Depending on the game, you will see a major uptick in performance to little at all. It all depends on whether the game is more CPU or GPU limited.

Your new parts will do the job. The i5 CPU can keep up with any high-end gfx card you may eventually upgrade to.

i might have to lower it from a i5 4440 to a 4430 3ghz, will this still last some years on upgraded graphics. becuase in my contrey its $50 less (although it is currently out of stock :() for a base clock of 100MHz less. or would for the same price getting a ivy bridge i5 be faster?
Thanks for the informative reply btw!

I don't know how prices are by you, but here in the US, that card is going for $160 new: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814202090&cm_re=sapphire_r9-270_dual-x-_-14-202-090-_-Product
I used to have it myself, but let it go in a build I recently sold.

I can't vouch for the honesty of the seller, obviously. But take with a grain of salt when they say they never OC'ed a component like a card. That is what we do. No box or anything is suspicious too.

What does that card go for new where you are?

Thanks. its around $270 at the minimum, and that much extra in my budget is a problem :(
would taking it home and testing on my old pc with old power supply and take it back if it doesnt work, or asking for a demo?

Obviously, that will be up to the seller. Contact him/her and ask if that is possible.

Ok they can arrange it :). So at worse case scenario if they have OC'd it and ran it heavly for 7 months, if its working when i see, will it still last some years?
