Hey all, I'm about to sell my motherboard and processor for a total of $625. With that I was hoping to do some improvements with my processor and motherboard. I wanted to make my system more future proof as well. I also wanted to grab a processor that can support my graphics cards at both 16x pci lanes, if possible. Unfortunately, I'm still pretty new with computer and have only build 3 simple systems so I'm don't still quite understand how pci lanes work or the best type of processor/motherboard.

To break it down, here is what I'm attempting to look for:
DDR4 compatible
Anything higher than Z87
Runs multiple graphics card in 16x.
MSI, ASUS, AsRock ( or any preferred pc mobo brands).

Sorry for the lengthy paragraph above and I know my grammar is hideous, but if you could take a minute to share your knowledge with me if you had to make a similar choice that would be awesome. Thanks to all who viewed this thread.

Current System Specs:
Maximus VI Extreme
Intel i7 4770k
Phantek ph-tc14pe cpu fan
2x Gigabyte G1 970
CM HAF X (w/ all compatible fans, 3x mega flow 200mm)
16GB g.skill sniper 1600 ddr3

Solution
No what you are wanting is absolutely not worth it. The 4790k + SLI supported Z97 is all you need. DDR4 isn't worth the hype either.

Its a great choice, but unfortunately its off my price range. The most I could absolutely put in would be about $650. Thanks for an answer though because if I had the extra cash those would definitely be worth the buy.

Sorry about being a noob with this question, but is the 5820k worth it for my dual gpus compared to 4970k along with ddr4. I guess my question is bit hazy, so I apologize for that.
