I've recently purchased one of these.

I'm looking to power an optical drive with it so that i may still use it outside the pc, which is the only method i can use, my case has no bays for an optical drive. When i plug it in the power and access led's on the adapter light up, the green light shows on the optical drive itself, but it doesn't buzz or spin to warm up like it normally would, and nothing happens when i press the eject button to insert a disc. I've tried plugging both of the usb connectors in, to give it more power but to no avail. Any ideas how to get it working people? the first time i plugged it in windows began installing the driver for it and it installed successfully but that hasn't allowed me to get it working either. Thanks in advance.
