What are some good Hardrive health programs?

I'm wondering what programs are good for monitoring hardrive health, right now I have hard disk sentinel installed but it doesn't allow me to do anymore scans because it's a free trial. I recommend that it's free software, and I would like programs that would give me a somewhat detailed review over the hardrive such as health, performance, sectors, and SMART. Thanks for the help.

HDDscan (Windows) and MHDD (DOS) will identify "slow" sectors, ie those that are difficult to read. Most other programs are just concerned with whether the sector is readable or unreadable.
