Hello everybody,

So I recently bought a new keyboard however, when I plug it in i receive "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)". I have tried every USB port, including a powered USB hub and other devices work in the USB ports, so it can't be a problem with my ports. I have tried to uninstall my drivers, reboot and reinstall them but it doesn't do anything. My other keyboard and USB devices all work fine, its just this keyboard. The keyboard does not have any drivers online, so I cannot manually install it. The keyboard isn't broken, because it works fine in the BIOS menu, but stops as soon as Windows loads.

I am running Windows 7 64-bit

Does anyone know how I can fix this?

Solution
Ah, ok. Well I guess that rules that out. Thought it was worth a shot.

Maybe try both of these solutions. First, download and reinstall the USB drivers for you motherboard located here:

http://download.gigabyte.us/FileList/Driver/mb_driver_intel_usb3.exe

And the Intel chipset and .inf files located here:

Intel management engine: http://download.gigabyte.us/FileList/Driver/mb_driver_intel_me_7series.exe

Inf files: http://download.gigabyte.us/FileList/Driver/mb_driver_chipset_intel_7series.exe

Reboot after installation of all three executables and then reconnect the keyboard.

If that doesn't work, this was taken from the Das Keyboard help forum:

This happened to me on Win7 x64. After hours of searching here is a...
Basic keyboard function is supported natively in windows 7, you should not need to install any drivers except to enable additional or optional features of the keyboard. If you're getting persistent errors and failure to work, except in the pre-windows environment where drivers are not necessary, it's likely that the unit is just defective. What is the brand and model number of the keyboard?

This happened to me on Win7 x64. After hours of searching here is a solution what worked for me.

Seems i was missing usb.inf and usb.pnf files in C:\Windows\INF\

Browse to 'C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\usb.inf_amd64_neutral_e2b28ecac19a29af'

Copy usb.inf and usb.PNF to 'C:\Windows\INF\' This step will require admin privileges

Unplug then plug the keyboard back in and it was recognized right away.

You can also try updating the drive manually like so.
-- Update driver on unknown devices
-- In Device Manager, right-click on the unkown device and select Properties
-- Select Driver tab
-- Click 'Update Driver' button
-- Select 'Browse my computer for driver software'
-- Enter 'C:\Windows\INF\' in the Search for driver software in this location field and click Next

Thank you so much for your help! The three executables seemed to do the trick. You really helped me out! :)

Hi, I'm having the exact same problem as the original poster. How do I find the executables needed for my computer?
