New PC that should run most games at 60fps but is stuck on 30 fps

I think it is like a fps lock or something but im no expert please help

Arma 3 reduces my computer to 25 frames per second on ultra, dont worry, it is not a framerate lock, it is just really stable.

As for insurgency, I am currently installing it to test out the framerate.

My pc Is similar to yours, so there should not be too much of a difference.


GTX 970
I7 4770k
16GB ram.

Really your GTX 970 only gets 25 fps because my gtx 970 g1 gaming from gigabyte get 50 fps on ultra with the occasional drop to 40 fps

Are you using the half-refresh rate vsync in the nvidia control panel?
That will lock you to 30.

No way that pc should be 30 fps on insurgency.

... Is it a solid 30 all the time? Or is it just hovering 'around' 30?

yeah so do I. I have every thing but the resolution scale maxed out.
