Several instant computer freezes with same set of Event IDs

So at first I thought Hearthstone was the problem (hence another thread on this forum).

Now I've been having crashes without me playing Hearthstone, which tells me, that the problem is somewhere else.

I'm constantly experiencing instant freezes on my computer, where I have to hard reset it to get back on track.

I'm getting the same set of ID's in the Event Viewer.

Any idea to what I can do?

P.S. English is not my native language, so please do tell me if I need to explain something better in order for you to understand and help me.

Haha if you still get freezes after upgrading all this, move to mexico or something and make sure your computer is good and warm. ;)

Replacing the motherboard/cpu changes your entire PC. It won't freeze any longer. :)

Just make sure you reinstall windows after changing your components, or else you will have driver compatibility issues. :)

I did do memtest a few months ago because I was getting constant BSoD's. One of my memblocks were faulty, and it's not in the machine anymore.

Afaik it shouldn't be memory issues since it's (as you're saying yourself) not BSoD issues.

Nevertheless I have requested Kingston living up to their lifetime warranty on the HyperX memory - so I'm expecting a new set of memory blocks this month.

Any way to check if it's the PSU?

Well there's alot of troubleshooting guides on the internet, but I really don't want to be the one to reccommend that you test it manually (which is the cheap way). It's really dangerous and could severely hurt you if you screw up. All you really need for this though is a multimeter and a nice guide to follow.

Personally I would reccommend borrowing another PSU from a friend etc. (make sure it's good enough for your system) or getting a new one. If it's not the issue you could always return it and get your money back.

Just did a fresh installation of Windows 7. Thought everything was going smooth. Bam. After 1,5 hours it froze again. I think I can rule out software related issues now, right?

It's highly likely it's a hardware issue, and I strongly believe it's the PSU. Get a new one to test with. You could always return it in the off chance it's not though.

Yeah. Just to be safe I'm gonna run Memtest tonight to rule that out too.

Thanks!

I've tested my memory = no issues whatsoever.

Haven't gotten around to get a new PSU (yet) - simply due to money issues.

But. Coming to think of it. Not saying that it is wrong, and I WILL buy a new PSU no matter what (want one of better quality), but in my mind it doesn't make any sense.

When I ran memtest86 for 2x 20+ hours I had zero freezes. Today I've been running Power Point, spotify, chrome and the likes for ~5 hours = no problems.

I happens most frequently when I play games and/or watch videos on twitch/Youtube. What hardware does these tasks require ressources from?

Games put strain on the CPU and the GPU. it's funny I didn't ask this yet, but have you checked your temperatures? Especially your CPU temps. If it's not the PSU it might be a forced shutdown to prevent damage to your CPU.

I've got a fresh "screenshot" (taken with my smartphone camera) of my CPUID HWMonitor the second my machine froze. I hope this means something to you, as I don't see anything particularly alarming - but I also know shit about Voltages and stuff :)

Hmm, nothing's out of the ordinary there. I can only think it's the PSU causing it at this point.

When were you planing on buying/testing a new PSU?

Uhm, also could you please post what PSU you're currently using?

I can't find that PSU on google too easily, but I'm gonna assume it's 600W.

If so then there is more than enough power for your GPU & CPU, I can only believe it's faulty at this point.

Lets hope a new PSU fixes your troubles.

It is 600W and it's been running my setup for 2,5 years, so I believe that wattage is/was enough.

I'm looking forward to sub my PSU as well - will keep you updated!

I got to test a friends PSU. It's been running all night with both Cities: Skylines and Dota2 running at the same time.

Machine is still running with no troubles.

It's a sad day. I did buy a new PSU, and it worked flawlessly for 1 day. Today I had another freeze/crash :(

Is my next step just to replace my MB, gfx and CPU?

I tested his PSU for a day. Had it running Cities: Skylines and Dota2 all night - no crashes. It's Corsair CX600M (http://www.corsair.com/en/cx-series-cx600m-modular-atx-power-supply-600-watt-80-plus-bronze-certified-modular-psu)

Bought one of the tier 2 PSUs from TomsHardware's list - Antec Edge 550 - http://www.antec.com/product.php?id=706875&fid=5022132&lan=nz

I am going to keep the PSU, as it's far better than the previous one I had - and it will lower my electricity bill :)

I'm not an overclocker, so my experience with this program is near non-existing. So I have some questions:

What test should I choose?

Small FFTs?
In-place large FFTs?
Blend?

How many numbers of torture test threads should I run?

For how long should I run the test?

As I said, run a small FFTs. This mode puts the most stress on your CPU.

Blend is an allround test, and put less strain on the CPU, which is the next in line of what I believe might cause it.

An hour or two is fine.
