Hi All

I built a PC back in December using the MSI X99 Sli Plus motherboard, and have done my best to keep it up to date with latest drivers and whatnot. I've just noticed that the BIOS version it is running is Version E7885IMS V1.3(130). Looking at the MSI site,

http://www.msi.com/support/mb/X99S-SLI-PLUS.html#down-bios

I can see that there are a number of updates to the BIOS. I haven't encountered any problems with my setup as is, but is it good practice to keep the BIOS running at the most current version. There is a lot of conflicting recommendation online, lots saying to only update BIOS if needed. I obviously don't WANT to brick the setup, but I'm pretty OCD when it comes to maintaining the setup. Also, when updating is it ok to jump a number of updates and go straight to the latest version or is it better to update each one along the way?

Solution
"How do I know if updating my BIOS will make my system run a lot better?" read the bios update blurb eg
- Enhanced XMP function. - XMP not working properly?
- Improved memory compatibility.
- Improved AC Power Loss function.
- Improved VGA compatibility.
- Add DRAM voltage range to 2.0V. - want to fit 1.65 2400MHz ram?

Thanks for the reply. How do I know if updating my BIOS will make my system run a lot better? So what you're saying is that updating the BIOS should be a measure taken only if Im experiencing problems, that I shouldn't update BIOS as a preventative measure against any problems arising. Each update comes with a breakdown as to what the update enhances. Is it not best to keep these updates current? Seems odd is all.
