3 hdd die in a month

1st hdd die on march 2015 ,less than 1 year use

maybe coz of static charge when i vacuum my pc banghead.gifbanghead.gifbanghead.gif

so i sent it for rma,while waiting,i use old 40gb HDD,it freeze sometime,i restart and it work again ,other than that it work fine

replacement from WD arrive,replace that 40gb hdd to replacement unit from wd,after 2 week,system cant detect hdd,i can hear pshhh pshh sound from hdd

so i change back to that old 40gb again,and it stop functioning today

is there anything that i should check?that damage my hdd?or i just have a bad luck

before i buy new one

Yup!... it's probably the "standard PSU"... see if a different one makes a difference.

I doubt you've dusted the PC several times in less than a month, so it may be the year old HDD was damaged from vacuum cleaning it, but not likely the 40GB or the replacement WD HDD.

First of all check the AC power cable is inserted snug in the PSU, and all power connectors are fully seated on the motherboard, CPU and HDDs. The pshh sound may be the HD header trying to read the disk/platter which may not be spinning up to speed from insufficient PSU power.

The voltages aren't terrific. And there's no 5v reading reported. But they should be OK.

But your CPU is hot - at 45C while at idle (Bios open) If your case gets too hot, this can kill HDDs.

Power off, covers off and blow the case out with compressed air - to get dust out. What case (make and model)? What fans are on it?
