Hi Everyone, I have a frustrating problem that I hope someone will have an answer to. I'm not an expert at this, so I will try to provide as much detail as possible. I have a desktop PC running Windows XP SP3 which can connect to the Internet via wi-fi but not ethernet. I have a D-Link modem/ router (DSL-2642B) set to bridging mode which is connect to a TP-Link router (TL-WR1043ND) which has Gargoyle installed on it. I can connect various devices to it by wi-fi, including my PC and I can connect my T-Box, which if you're not in Australia, is basically a digital set top box with limited internet capability, to the Internet by the ethernet cable, but the same connection won't work for my PC. I assume that it must have something to do with the settings in my PC, but am not sure which ones. Can someone help? If you need any more info please let me know.

Hi, yes drivers are installed. The ethernet adapter is a Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller. The driver version is 5.760.503.2010. I can't find a newer version so I assume this is up to date.

Sorry, I can't find this option in my control panel. I've done some quick google research and it seems to enable DHCP in XP I just need to set the adaptor to auto, which I have done already. So frustrating!!!
