Should I buy a 750ti and wait for the 300 series or just buy a 280x?

So my question is should I buy a 750ti as a stopgap and wait for the AMD 300 series or should I just go for the 280X?

If I go for the 750Ti it would cost about $120 and the 280X would cost $190.

I'm building my new pc for mainly gaming purposes. My monitor is 1080p and I don't think I'm going to upgrade it anytime soon. Thanks!

Go for the R9 280X if you can't wait until mid/late June when the new stuff comes out but there's a nasty sting in the about the release: http://www.techpowerup.com/210453/amd-r9-390-series-to-launch-alongside-computex-2015.html Yep, looks like no fully new parts for the mainstream/upper mainstream users.

Check prices very carefully, the price difference between the R9 280X and much faster R9 290 can be surprisingly small, especially if you find a weekend special or a card on promo.

I think AleksaSavic3 means the GTX960, what few GTX760s I can find here (I'm in the UK) and in the USA are hugely overpriced.
