Large ping spikes just to router over wireless, [probably] caused by the PC

I've just started using wireless again after being on wired for about 3 months and I am having some severe ping troubles.
As far as I'm aware nothing in my computer has significantly changed that could affect my wireless connection.

Issue:
Ping spikes of over 1000ms to my router at random intervals

Attempted Solutions:

* Reinstalled Drivers
* Trying different Wifi settings (channel, wireless interface type)
* Switching between 2 and 5 GHz bands
* Factory Resetting Router
* Installing WLAN Optimizer
* Disconnecting all other wireless devices from the network
* Virus/Malware scan
* Using older drivers
* Disabling a number of process and services and preventing them from starting up

So far none of the above have worked

OS: Windows 8.1 64 Bit

My NIC is an http://www.asus.com/uk/Networking/PCEAC68/ , I spent a lot of money on it to make sure I would have no wireless issues but apparently that is not the case.

This is not occurring on any other wireless device I use with this router which leads me to believe something on my PC is causing it.

Any help would be appreciated

Thanks for your reply, my most recent troubleshooting test was actually trying it on wired for the slim chance that the same would happen, and it does! So that rules out it being a wireless issue, there must be something on my PC causing network spikes to the router

I noticed by your logs your router uses an IP address ending in .254 which I personally have had issues with before in the past with, normally vendors like linksys. I would also try looking at the logs and see how many devices are connected and I would take them all of the network and just leave yours connected via Ethernet. then try pinging your router again. See if it fixes it if it does I would just restore your router to default settings but make the routers ip address 192.168.1.1 or 0.1, then update firmware, and then slowly start adding devices to your network again doing the ping test each time you add a new device. Also make sure your router can give out enough IP addresses like I normally set it to something like 50 addresses on a home network.
