Hdmi to dvi-d vs hdmi to hdmi which will work

I want to connect a monitor to my computer. Both have hdmi and dvi-d. Should I get a dvi-d to dvi-d or a hdmi to dvi-d?

The hdmi to dvi-d seems much cheaper, so I'd rather that option. Will either work?

If both your PC and monitor has HDMI ports than simply but a normal HDMi cable and plug them both up. There is no reason to use a DVI-D to HDMI or reverse when both your PC and Monitor has the same ports. DVI-D has screws that lock in to the port so if you would prefer that over HDMI than go for it because HDMI cables tend to become loose over time while DVI-D screws in.
