Can I combine RAM and overclock them to the same speed?

Hi, I'm using an i7 DC on a hero vii, currently have
G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866 (PC3 14900) Desktop Memory Model F3-14900CL8D-8GBXM
Timing 8-9-9-24
Cas Latency 8
Voltage 1.5V

and I want to add and overclock
Mushkin Enhanced Redline 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model 996746
Timing 7-7-7-18
Cas Latency 7
Voltage 1.65V

Is such a thing possible?

I'd like to use RAMDisk maybe even Rapid on my SSD, both of which want RAM...

If it matters I'm pretty much only interested in gaming :)

Thanks

Possible yes, difficult yes

There are just to many differences to make the effort worthwhile.....

Different sizes
Different speeds
Different timings
Different manufacturer
Different Voltages
And likely different module manufacturers.

The mote items that are different, the less likely your chances of success.... this is just too much.

Do you think the slower ram with tighter timing or double faster ram with not quite as tight timing is better to use, considering i could probably OC the mushkin, I haven't tried it in my i7 rig yet, only on a 965 that maxed at 1333 c3 speed

If I just dump both in, what will auto happen? to the timings especially, or it just wont work?

If you have both sets, it won't hurt to try, guessing you have the RJ X set up under XMP? Yes/No? Sounds like the F3-14900CL8D-8GBXM, there's also a slight different model with the D on the end that comes w/ a fan, but it's a 1.65 set. If so can try them with the 4GB RJ Xs in slots 1-3 and the Redlines in 2-4 (from CPU. Would start withonly the RJs - go into BIOS and manually set the data rate to 1866, base timings to 8-9-9-26, CR to 2T and DRAM voltage to 1.65 initially, then save, exit, shut down - add the Mushkins and give it a try. If all is well can try lowering the DRAM voltage maybe - 0.02 at a time while maintaining stability.
