I had a blue screen on my windows 8.1 machine. The blue screen said page fault in non paged area. I am going to test the ram with mem test 86, but when I rebooted my pc it said my raid 1 had degraded then once in windows it started to auto rebuild. The intel raid utility says both drives are ok. Can anyone help me make sense of either of these issues? First is that blue screen usually because of RAM? Second Why would the Raid need to rebuild if both hard drives are okay? Only other clue I can give is sometimes I hear a popping sound but I can't tell where its coming from. It is not the HDD clicking it almost sounds like it is coming from my fan controller... Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Clicking noises can be almost anything - including the hard drives. It is always recommended to have your OS drive in a non-RAID format (I build servers for a living - and NEVER install the OS on a RAID drive). Too many things can go bad....

For home use - I would recommend using the two drives as single SATA drives - one as the "master" and use the second for a backup. Use a program like SyncBack Free to backup your important data.

Remember - RAID is not a "backup" - RAID volume can fail.

Now, as for the BSOD - do you have the code(s) from the BSOD?
