I have a good pc, but games dont run well at all!

Lots of games don't run very well, and I'm not sure what the bottleneck in my pc is so I thought someone here could definitely help me out! Games such as arma 2 and 3, and Dayz for that matter don't run well at all!
Specs:
Cpu: AMD Fw Series 6100 3.3 ghz (6 core)
Gpu: AMD R9 290X XFX 8gb Vram
Mobo: MSI 970A-G46
RAM: Crucial DDR3 4gb x2 = 8gb total
PSU: 1000 Watt CoolMax

yes I can... I would recommend an fx-8350 or fx-8370... they are both am3+.... anything less than an 8350 cant drive an r9 290x imo that's the min for a very high end gpu like an r9 290x...

The games you mentioned are cpu heavy and not to gpu heavy. CPU=bottle neck for those games. Other games should run better.

When i say "don't run well at all" what i mean by that is i mostly have to play at low settings to see any kind of performance, and even then it's bad. I'm seeing 14-23 fps on Arma 3 on high settings. Not ultra, ultra is even worse. So what CPU would you recommend? AM3+ would be just awesome please lol. Don't want to buy another Mobo if possible.
