I have a new SSD coming in 2 days. I have the black 7200rpm WD 2 TB as my boot drive. I have 2 WD passports that aren't even a year old, Windows 7 says

"space not available" during back up. I re formatted all the passports and no errors came through. I ran CMD and vssadmin, nothing is being recognized. I know in the future, I will need to be more careful. This HDD crapped on me early and I need a new back up asap. I know I can simple migrate with EVOs software, but I want my WDs filled up before hand.

Welcome to Tom's Hardware, Markz0ne30!

I'm very sorry to hear about your WD Passport drives! :( Have you tried using them on another computer to see how they will get recognized there?
I'd suggest you to make sure you've got the firmware updated on the Passports. Here's a link: http://products.wdc.com/support/kb.ashx?id=bV2fXu
One more thing you need to do is to test the drives' health and SMART status using WD's Data LifeGuard Diagnostics tool. Here's a link to the utility: http://products.wdc.com/support/kb.ashx?id=F2LpSh (Make sure you run the extended as well as the quick test on them).
Another thing worth doing is uninstalling the USB drivers from your computer and then let Windows Updates install them back.
Here's a link that explains the procedure through Device Manager: https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/hardware/ff553572%28v=vs.85%29.aspx?f=255&MSPPError=-2147217396

Hope this helps! Keep me posted! :)
