Hi
I have this problem with my new built pc
Specefics:
Cpu: I5 4690k
Motherboard: asus gryphon z 87
Graphics: asus gtx 750 ti
Hard drive : westrn digital 320 gigs sata II
Ram: corsair black vengeance 8 gigs.

Well every thing was fine until my system started having this issue at the boot sequence all what the bios can detect is the optical drive .. But not my hdd .
My problem would go away only if i press restart ...
Note that i have like case cooler master cm 690 b&w edition .. And its been a struggle installing the sata cable ..(hard drive a bit thick it touches the edges of the tray making it difficult for the sata cable ...)

What should i do ?

Hi there Sk8ter,

As you are facing some HDD problem, it may be a good idea to start with just backing up the important data that is stored on the drive.
After that, you can test the drive with WD's Data Lifeguard Diagnostic tool. The results will show you whether there is something wrong with the drive.
If there is nothing wrong though, you will need to try using some different cables as well as different SATA port.

WD's DLG tool: http://products.wdc.com/support/kb.ashx?id=2rUPQt

Cheers,
