Looking for budget upgrades to run GTA 5 (PSU & GPU)

I need to upgrade my graphics card and power supply to run GTA 5. My budget cannot exceed more than $250 and I want to be sure the upgrades will fit and work properly with my machine's specs.

Can anyone help me be sure that I'm getting the right upgrades? I don't need to run GTA on ultra, or even high (would be nice but not necessary) but would love for it to run very smooth on medium to low settings. I just want to play the game and not break the bank.

UPDATE2

I've been looking at a lot of cards but I'm just not sure they'll even fit!

My main concern is making sure the card will fit and the PSU will be adequate. That's the best I can come up with after looking into so many cards out there. It's difficult to know which one is the right one for me!

So far the only one I think will work is the 750 ti.

I was looking at the 750 earlier but the 270x seems to blow that out of the water for around the same price. If the 750 is the best I can do for this rig in this price range, then I've no problem going with that. Is there a specific PSU (Model and wattage) you can recommend around the same price range (not too much more anyways) or are you saying I don't even need a power supply with the 750? Is 300 watts sufficient? Thanks for chiming in as this is driving me crazy!

Absolute max would be $300 (for card and psu). It's not necessarily hard to find good budget cards but this machine will not take huge cards. I'm not even sure a double slot card would fit right in this case. If I were to spend much more than $250, I might as well just get a new machine altogether lol. The cards I selected (without really thinking about size) are decent but they won't fit. I may be forced to go with the 750 ti that was suggested. With that in mind, I'm all ears!

Those are excellent choices! The only problem is I don't think the card will fit. Are you 100% sure the card will fit? I updated my op to exclude my card picks because I think they're too big. It may require a low profile but the power supply looks sweet!

It should fit. If it doesn't you can send it back. The XFX PSU is amazing. Engineered by Seasonic it's a great PSU, it should also help clean up the rig from any cable clutter.

If you're feeling paranoid about the case you can upgrade that too. There's alternatives out there. The Shionobi window from BitFenix is in the range bringing the maximum price to around $300 (don't quote me on that I need to check).

Sorry, the Bitfenix came to around $350.

If you need to upgrade your case:

I appreciate the effort but I think I'm going to go with the 750 ti. It's pretty much the only thing that is guaranteed to work on this mobo config that I can find. If it doesn't work out I will definitely keep this post on the back burner. Thanks guys!

Just wanted to chime in and say the 750 Ti is working great and GTA V is running like a champ! A lot better than I thought it would. I didn't even have to get another power supply. Not overclocking it or anything and it's been running the game for long periods of time with no crashes, no glitches and the graphics are amazing! I can only imagine what it looks like on the high end stuff! Thanks for the suggestion.
