I have to replace my motherboard and several people suggested Asus. I had an Asrock Z87 Extreme 4 before and the Ram sockets in channel A went bad. My son uses it for extensive gaming and making games.

My budget is about $175 +-.

Any suggestions would be very appreciated.

I was looking at Asus Z97-A, Asus Z97-A/USB 3.1, and Asus Z97 Pro Gamer. And any others that are better.

My setup:

Intel Core i7-4790K 4.0GHz Quad-Core Processor

Memory Crucial Ballistix Sport 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 Memory

Mushkin Reactor 1TB 2.5" Solid State Drive

Seagate Barracuda 2TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive

EVGA GeForce GTX 780 Ti 3GB Superclocked ACX Video Card

NZXT Phantom 410 (White) ATX Mid Tower Case

Raidmax 850W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply

Asus DRW-24B1ST/BLK/B/AS DVD/CD Writer

Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 (OEM) (64-bit)

AOC e2752Vh 60Hz 27.0" Monitor

BenQ RL2455HM 60Hz 24.0" Monitor

All three of these motherboards are nearly identical in terms of features and performance, just choose the one that you (or your son) prefers aesthetically or if you don't care about aesthetics get the cheapest one. That's my opinion on it. Good Luck!
